2018 General Election

The Ballot will include: governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, US Representative in Congress, State Senator, representative in State Legislature, Member of the State Board of Education, Regent of the University of Michigan, Trustee of Michigan State University, Governor of Wayne State University, Justice of Supreme Court, Circuit Judges, Judge of Probate Court, Village President, Village Council, and Lakeshore School Board Members.

  • State Proposal 18-1: A proposed initiated law to authorize and legalize possession, use and cultivation of marijuana products by individuals who are at least 21 years of age and older, and commercial sales of marijuana through state-licensed retailers.
  • State Proposal 18-2: A proposed constitutional amendment to establish a commission of citizens with exclusive authority to adopt district boundaries for the Michigan Senate, Michigan House of Representatives and U.S. Congress, every 10 years.
  • State Proposal 18-3: A proposal to authorize automatic and Election Day Voter Registration, no-reason absentee voting, and straight ticket voting; and add current legal requirements for military and overseas voting and post-election audits to the Michigan Constitution. 

College Students: Students may begin requesting an absent voter application at this time.  A member of your immediate family or household may pick up and deliver an absent voter application.  You can receive an absent voter ballot at your registered address or may request the ballot be sent to your college address.  An un-voted ballot may not be given to anyone other than the voter that requested the ballot; however a family member may return the voted and sealed ballot to Lincoln Charter Township, 2055 W John Beers Rd, Stevensville. 

Absentee Ballots: If you are 60 years or older, expect to be absent for the entire time polls are open or are physically unable to attend the polls without the assistance of another; you may apply for an Application for Absent Voter Ballot.  You may contact Cindi Connell for details at 269-429-1589 ext 102 or you may obtain the application on the Township website: http://lctberrien.org/departments/elections.php or on the State of Michigan Website; http://www.michigan.gov/sos/ under Elections in Michigan.
