Recreational Marijuana

The village of Stevensville is considering adopting ordinances to allow for and regulate recreational marijuana retailers in the village. The process involves 2 steps - a zoning amendment through the planning commission and a regulatory ordinance through the Village Council. Check this page regularly for updates and information about meetings and votes.

October 6, 2022: The Planning Commission held a public hearing on the draft zoning amendment and voted to recommend it for council consideration.

November 7, 2022 6:00 p.m.: Village Council held a public hearing to hear public comment on the marijuana zoning amendment ordinance and the regulatory ordinance.If you are unable to make the public hearing, you can submit a letter of support or opposition. Public hearing agenda.

November 9, 2022 6:00 p.m. Village Council voted to approve the marijuana ordinances to allow retailers in the village.

December 14, 2022 6:00 p.m. Next Village Council meeting.

Next Steps

At the December meeting, the Village Council will set a month long application receipt period. During this time, the village will accept applications. Please keep checking back for the most up to date information, or call or email village hall.
