Recreational Marijuana

The village of Stevensville is considering adopting ordinances to allow for and regulate recreational marijuana retailers in the village. The process involves 2 steps - a zoning amendment through the planning commission and a regulatory ordinance through the Village Council.

Zoning Amendment

The zoning amendment allows marijuana retailers to operate in the village after approval of a special use permit. It also includes regulations for parcel eligibility, odor, security, hours of operation, and other operational requirements. The planning commission will discuss the draft zoning amendment, hold a public hearing, and give a recommendation to the council. The public hearing for the planning commission is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th at 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall. The public is welcome.

Regulatory Ordinance

The regulatory ordinance outlines the rules, eligibility and processes for obtaining a village permit to operate a retailer dispensary in the village. Following the planning commission's public hearing, the Village Council will hold a public hearing on the zoning ordinance and regulatory ordinance. The date for the village council public hearing has not been set.
